With our three brands – MacGregor, Kalmar and Hiab – Cargotec delivers cargo and load handling solutions and services for the biggest shipping companies in the world as well as for small and medium-sized local operators.
Our business is truly global. We have operations in more than 120 countries and more than 750 sales and service locations worldwide. Our headquarters are located in Helsinki, Finland.
Cargotec employs approximately 10,500 professionals globally of which 58 percent are located in EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa). Personnel in the Asia-Pacific region make up 28 percent of our employees, while those in North and South America represent 14 percent.
Solutions on land, in port and at sea
Cargotec’s cargo and load handling solutions are used worldwide in all cargo flow hubs. On land, our load handling solutions are used in various sectors in inland transport and delivery, including construction, distribution, warehousing and defence. In ports and terminals, our customers include container and bulk terminals. At sea, we offer our solutions to ship owners and ship and terminal operators, shipbuilders, and navies. In addition, our customers include offshore vessel owners and operators, as well as shipbuilders.
We also offer a wide range of services for all of our customers, including maintenance, repair, spare parts and training.

We strongly believe that thinking globally and acting locally is the way to serve our customers and to expand their business. Our global network is positioned close to customers and offers extensive services that ensure the continuous, reliable and sustainable performance of equipment both in mature markets and in growing economic areas. In 2011, 40 percent of our sales took place in EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa), 39 percent in Asia-Pacific and 21 percent in Americas.
Our supply assembly and manufacturing units are located in China, Estonia, Finland, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. Part of our manufacturing assembly and manufacturing has been outsourced to partner plants located mainly in Asia.
