Hiab HiPro crane series enter a new era

22/09/2010

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, TRADE PRESS RELEASE, 22 SEPTEMBER 2010 AT 9:00 AM (EEST)

Efficient and user-friendly. Precise and fast. Four keywords that signify a Hiab HiPro crane. HiPro first saw the light of day in 2001. A decade later, Cargotec is proud to announce that this increasingly popular control system is being made available in a new version with the well-known XSDrive remote control. The name is HiPro XSD. The first crane to come out with this new system is the Hiab XS 111.

The story of the Hiab HiPro family had already started at the beginning of the '90s, when the first Hiab control system designed for high speed and precision was introduced. A leap was taken in the mid-'90s, when the company, as the first loader crane manufacturer in the world, introduced electronics in their Hiab cranes. Fine-tuned hydraulics and an intelligent control system paved the way for a synthesis of precision, speed, and safety. And in 2001 the first Hiab HiPro saw the day of light. It became an instant success.

"The HiPro-feel is about speed, precision, and smooth control. We spent essentially the whole of the nineties to find a top-notch solution. It was an intense decade of research and development. And already at the start of the decade we were able to give customers a "complete" crane that offered the lot. We named it the HiPro, and it became a smash hit. Today, we have arrived at the second stop on this journey as we proudly present a new version of the HiPro system, the HiPro XSD. This will be a great complement to our original HiPro system with the CombiDrive2 remote control," says Cargotec's Bengt Söderholm, Product Manager for Loader Cranes.

The HiPro XSD comes with XSDrive remote control - a lightweight controller, available with shoulder hook, slide belt, and harness, depending on what the operator is most comfortable with. For the Hiab XS 111, the HiPro XSD offers the well-known HiPro feel and brings first-rate control properties and highest productivity. It also gives a boost with extra capacity when needed.

The Hiab XS 111 HiPro is a 12-tonne-metre workhorse and a versatile tool in the medium-capacity range, built to withstand rough tasks such as digging and grapple work. It is at the same time a lightweight crane that takes up little space, which makes it a great choice for customers seeking a light installation in this capacity class. All of this makes the Hiab XS 111 HiPro the optimal choice for fast load handling and multi‑task jobs.
