10/06/2016

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 10 JUNE 2016 AT 2.30 PM EEST

Hiab, part of Cargotec, has won the KWF-Vision award at the KWF exhibition in Rodin, Germany, where LOGLIFT and JONSERED are showing their latest forestry crane innovations. The KWF jury says "HiVisionTM is an innovative form of a crane control. The safety and comfort are remarkable and are complemented by a precise control system and good visibility. The novel camera-based 3D technologies provide important steps for improved functionality, ergonomics and safety, pioneering new ideas in crane control in the forest".

HiVisionTM was first launched in April 2016 in connection to the Bauma exhibition in Munich, where approximately 3,000 visitors tested the system. HiVisionTM is a revolutionary and unique system in the industry with cameras on top of the forestry crane. This enables the crane operator to see the working area and operate the crane from the truck cabin using virtual reality goggles.

"We in LOGLIFT and JONSERED are extremely proud of this innovation award, which is the forest business "Oscar Prize". We were sure during the project phase that HiVision(TM) will shape the future of load handling. Our customers have shown huge interest towards this revolutionary technology. HiVision(TM) increases the safety, comfort and performance of our customers' daily work and this is key when we develop our products," says Jon Lopez, Vice President, Forestry Cranes.

"On my behalf I want to thank the dedicated Forestry and Hiab R&D teams. This award proves what a pioneering mindset our people have, and what kind of results it brings. We will continue innovating and set new industry standards. HiVision(TM), among our other innovations, demonstrates our leadership in intelligent load handling," says Roland Sundén, President, Hiab.

HiVisionTM is presented at KWF exhibition in Rodin, Germany on 9-12 June, on stand A2-150 and Forexpo in Bordeaux, France, 15-17 June.  The possibility to pre-book LOGLIFT and JONSERED cranes with a HiVisionTM has been opened at the KWF exhibition. The order books will be opened 1 October 2016 and the first HiVisionTM crane will be delivered in January 2017.
