Cargotec Receives RTG Orders from South America

Kalmar, the business area providing container handling solutions within Cargotec, has received an order for 12 E-One RTGs (rubber-tyred gantry cranes) from South America. Eight E-One RTGs will be delivered to Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Cartagena (SPRC) in Columbia and four to Buenos Aires Container Terminal Services SA (BACTSSA) in Argentina. The units will be delivered in mid-2006. The parties have agreed that the monetary value will not be disclosed. 
 
The orders strengthen Kalmar's position as the market leader in RTGs in South America. During 2005 Kalmar has also received RTG orders from Brazil and Chile.
 
The Kalmar E-One RTG product was launched in January 2005 and has already reported more sales than the previous RTG-model during the entire previous year. E-one is known in the market as an environmentally friendly and productive RTG. It's an all-electric crane without hydraulics. In addition, the units to be delivered to SPRC contain a Kalmar developed Remote Machine Interface, RMI, allowing the customer to optimise the productivity of the handling equipment. The RTGs will be also fitted with Kalmar's Smartrail® automatic steering and container position verification system.
