Cargotec Receives Significant Ship Crane Orders from China

21/12/2006

Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling solutions has received orders for 84 ship cranes from China. The cranes will be delivered between 2007 and 2009 for container ships and multi-purpose vessels that will be built in different shipyards. The value of the orders is approximately EUR 25 million.

30 of the cranes will be delivered to Guangzhou Wenchong shipyard for 15 container ships ordered by different shipowners. The value of this order is approximately EUR 10 million of the overall value.

Each of the cranes will be equipped with a control system that helps to adjust the speed and ramp times of the cranes and in this way optimise the cargo handling operation.
