Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling solutions has received ship crane orders for 74 bulk carriers. The value of the orders is approximately EUR 75 million. The orders have been booked in the second quarter of 2007.
The 276 ship cranes will be delivered during 2008-2011 for different ship yards building bulk carriers in China and India. The hoisting capacity of the ship cranes is 30-36 tonnes. The bulk carrier demand has increased in ship yards as the demand for raw materials has increased significantly and the existing fleet is replaced with new vessels.
