24/09/2007

Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling and offshore solutions, has received an order for ship cranes and hatch covers, which will be delivered for 10 general cargo ships. The ships will be built at a Chinese shipyard for German shipowner Herman Buss. The value of the order is approximately EUR 20 million.

The delivery of 40 ship cranes will start during spring 2009 and continue until year 2010. The hatch covers will be delivered during 2009-2010 and the order includes weatherdeck hatch covers as well as hydraulic system, fixed container lashing equipment for the deck and holds, and lift-away tweendeck hatch covers.

The shipowner Herman Buss is MacGREGOR's long time customer and it has several MacGREGOR hatch covers in its vessels. This was the first time Herman Buss ordered both ship cranes and hatch covers. The combined order will provide the customer several technical advantages.
