Cargotec Receives an Order for 12 RTGs from Brazil
Kalmar, the business area providing container handling solutions within Cargotec, has received an order for 12 E-One rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from South America's largest container terminal operator, Santos Brasil S/A, operating at the Port of Santos. The 7+1 wide and 1-over-6 high units will come equipped with Kalmar's auto-steering and container position verification system, Smartrail® and be delivered by March 2009. The order has been booked in the first quarter 2008 order intake.
The unit prices for RTG cranes vary between EUR 1-1.5 million.
Kalmar has already delivered five conventional hydraulic and 12 all-electric RTGs to Santos Brasil, which handled 1.2 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) in 2007.
