Cargotec Receives an Order to Develop Ship-to-Ship Vehicle Transfer System for US Navy
26/02/2008
Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling and offshore solutions, has received an order from US Navy to develop a Test Article Vehicle Transfer System. The delivery of the system is set to be completed by the end of year 2009 and the value of the order is approximately EUR 13 million.
MacGREGOR will design, build and test the ship-to-ship vehicle transfer system, which is part of the US Navy's "Sea Base" plan supporting Army and Marine Corps land forces. With the help of the system large vehicles are able to pass from large medium-speed RoRo ships to a Mobile Landing Platform ship.
