CARGOTEC CORPORATION, TRADE PRESS RELEASE, 2 JULY 2012 AT 10 A.M. (EEST)
Cargotec has won an order to deliver eight of its class-leading low emission reachstackers to Hamburger Container-und-Chassis-Reparatur GmbH (HCCR) - the largest empty container handling operation in Germany. The order was booked into the second quarter 2012 order intake.
A subsidiary of HHLA, Hamburg-based HCCR has purchased the eight DRF100-54S6 models as part of a twelve machine deal which also includes Kalmar DCF100-45E7 empty container handlers and one Kalmar forklift, DCF200-12CS. Deployed at sites across Hamburg's Container Terminals, the new models join the world's largest Kalmar empty container handling reachstacker fleet at HCCR. Working in close co-operation with HCCR, Cargotec will also provide service support to all 12 machines which are scheduled for delivery in Q3 2012.
Mikael Persson, Vice President, Reachstackers and Empty Container Handlers at Cargotec, says: "Cargotec is delighted to secure this latest order and strengthen the partnership with one of our largest empty container reachstacker customer. We were selected based on several criteria. Not only for the high performance of the equipment, meeting the latest environmental legislation, but also for the ongoing support that Cargotec provides. HCCR believes we offer the greatest total solution of any manufacturer, both on paper and in practice, as proven over our excellent 18 year relationship."
Meeting the demand for reaching low emission levels, all Kalmar reachstacker models are fitted with the latest EU Stage IIIB / EPA Tier 4i emissions compliant Volvo diesel engines, which use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to deliver near-zero NOx and harmful particulate emissions. The SCR engines are optimised for efficient combustion, which provides the fuel efficiency and low particulate emission benefits. To combat the resultant NOx emissions, AdBlue is injected into the exhaust gas. The exhaust gas and AdBlue then enter a catalytic converter, which turns the NOx into harmless Nitrogen gas and water vapour.
