Kalmar Industries has just completed a deal with Maersk Sealand to provide a preventative maintenance contract for all of Maersk Sealand's Kalmar equipment in Africa.
The agreement means that Kalmar Solutions, the specialist division of Kalmar Industries created to provide added value services, will inspect Maersk Sealand's Kalmar machines in eleven different African countries, providing it with written reports and recommendations as to what action needs to be taken to ensure machine longevity and damage prevention.
Kalmar Solutions will also jointly evaluate and audit, together with Maersk Sealand, spare part stocks and consumables consumption (eg diesel and oil). Additionally, Kalmar will regularly evaluate the maintenance records of all the machines involved and recommend preventative maintenance programs for each site.
