Kalmar RT Center Receives Major Orders for Rough Terrain Container Handlers

Kalmar RT Center in San Antonio Texas U.S., has signed a new requirement type contract with the United States Marine Corp (USMC) and the Tank Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) valued at nearly EUR 10 Million.

Kalmar RT Center has also been awarded a major refurbishment deal with TACOM that will see 60-75 machines rebuilt at Kalmar RT in Texas. This contract is estimated to be valued at EUR 14 million.

In April 2000, Kalmar RT Center signed a contract with the US Army via TACOM to deliver Rough Terrain Container Handlers. The US Army contract was a requirement type contract and covered deliveries over the period 2001-2005. Since mid 2001, the Kalmar RT Center has delivered between eight and ten machines every month. The order also included considerable technical documentation, training and logistic support. The new contract signed with USMC and TACOM proves that Kalmar RT Center efforts to maintain a significant business in the Rough Terrain Container Handlers product line have been successful.
