MacGREGOR announces further business growth in ChinaA new joint venture in China will improve MacGREGOR competitiveness in domestic markets and add local design resources to its portfolio The MacGREGOR Group part of the Cargotec Corporation has today announced a new joint venture with Chinese company Shanghai Goodway Marine Engineering. The joint venture will offer access to a market not otherwise available to us and also to locally-available qualified design and project management resources, said Kent Glasberg, general manager of MacGREGOR Service division. Customer focus would be on Chinese domestic markets and our target would be to improve competitiveness in this area". Additionally this new venture would improve our ability to serve global customers in conversion and modernisation projects outside China as well. Following the finalisation of the new partnership, Goodway current eight-employee staff base will be employed by the joint venture company, and MacGREGOR will commit resources to meet the requirement for advanced technical skill levels.
