Contracts for RoRo cargo access equipment for another 10 ships have been secured by MacGREGOR, covering systems for four 8,000-unit PCTCs and three smaller car carriers, as well as the conversion of three coastal RoRo ships
A recent order from Korean yard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd (DSME) specifies MacGREGOR cargo access equipment for four 8,000-unit PCTCs booked by Wallenius/Wilhelmsen. These carriers are the largest of their kind, and this order is a continuation of the Wallenius series of three presently under construction at DSME Okpo yard.
MacGREGOR will supply outfits comprising a stern/quarter ramp, side ramp, ramp cover, liftable car decks, hoistable ramps, internal doors and associated hydraulic and electric operating systems. The deliveries to DSME Koje yard will start in 2007 and continue into 2008.
MacGREGOR is also supplying RoRo equipment for three smaller PCTCs being built at the Croatian shipyard, 3 Maj. The Group has also been awarded a conversion contract to modify three coastal RoRo ships to increase their car-carrying capacity.
