MacGREGOR wins bulker hatch cover orders worth more than EUR 40 millionOrders secured in April for 79 shipsets of MacGREGOR hatch covers for bulk carriers have a total value of over EUR 40 millionThe orderbook boom in hatch covers continues and MacGREGOR part of Cargotec Corporation confirmed that hatch cover contracts for 79 bulk carriers had been secured in April. The hatch covers are destined for bulkers ranging from 56,000 dwt to 181,000 dwt on order in Korean shipyards for various shipowners. Among these contracts is a complete hatch cover delivery for ten 56.000 dwt bulk carriers on order at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co Ltd for a German owner. MacGREGOR is also delivering cargo cranes to four of these ships, as announced earlier this month. Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd has on order 22 bulk carriers and MacGREGOR contract includes design, fabrication and key components. MacGREGOR is also delivering hatch cover design and key components for 47 bulkers on order at STX shipyards for various owners. The hatch covers will be manufactured at MacGREGOR partner plants and will be delivered from 2009 to 2010.
