Orders for MacGREGOR cranes secured at the end of November and December have a total value of close to u201a140 million and include shipsets of cranes for handling general cargo, dry bulk cargo, and containersIn December MacGREGOR confirmed that contracts for 390 cranes with a total value of close to u201a140 million had been secured at the end of November and during December. The cranes are destined for 101 ships on order in China and Korea, comprising 80 bulk carriers, 14 general cargo ships, and 7 container feeder ships.
This news followed an earlier announcement that during October and the beginning of November MacGREGOR had signed contracts for 179 cranes for 43 ships on order in China and Korea.
Cranes for ships being built in Korean yards are being built by MacGREGOR manufacturing partners Hochang Machinery Industries Co., Ltd and SPP Heavy Industries Co Ltd, and those for Chinese yards by CSSC Nanjing Luzhou Machine Company Co Ltd. The cranes will be delivered from January 2009 until October 2011.
