terminal tractor cabin at the Hannover Fair
Kalmar Industries, the worlds leading manufacturer of mobile container handling equipment, will officially unveil its newly designed terminal tractor cabin at the Hannover Fair in Germany, 15-20 April 2002.
All new terminal tractors (both TTX and TRX models) built in Kalmars Tampere facility in Finland will in future be available with the redesigned engine side door (ESD) cabin as an option.
Whilst many of the features that made the original ESD terminal tractor cabin so popular with operators have remained, many more have been added or redesigned to improve driver comfort and ergonomics. The new ESD cabin now boasts:
- Better all-round visibility as the size of the corner posts has been reduced and the front column and door posts have been removed. This increased visibility improves safety.
- Easier and safer access, achieved by repositioning the door. Access is now via the rear deck, meaning drivers no longer step out directly into the road.
-Improved noise insulation the cabin meets existing noise level regulations.
- More spacious layout as the cabin now sits fully on top of the engine compartment.
-A redesigned instrument panel for better driver ergonomics.
-The addition of fixing points enabling the customer to install their own on-board computers / equipment in the cabin.
In addition, the dash has been moulded from a new material similar to that used by the automotive industry. This means that cab surfaces are easier to keep clean.
The electrical system has also been redesigned making it more reliable and easier to service.
Kalmar Industries manufactures a range of tractors with varying capacities designed for use in ports, terminals and heavy industry.
Kalmar Industries will be on stand A10, Hall 26 at the Hannover Fair.
