Cargotec Sells Land in Tampere, Finland

Stock Exchange Release, July 7, 2006 at 10.30 a.m. Finnish time

Kalmar, the business area providing container handling solutions within Cargotec, has sold part of its land area and related property at its site in Tampere, Finland to Skanska Residential Nordic in Finland. The sales price exceeds EUR 25 million. The resulting capital gain for Cargotec is approximately EUR 15 million. The gain will be booked in Cargotec's third quarter 2006 operating profit.

The sold land area has been planned for residential construction. The street, park and certain office and public service building areas have been transferred to the City of Tampere. Kalmar will concentrate its own operations to the western part of the site, which it mainly uses already today.
