Employee engagement refers to the strength of the mental and emotional connection employees feel toward the work they do, their teams, and the organisation as a whole. Through our annual employee engagement survey, Compass, all our employees are encouraged to share their thoughts on a wide range of topics, from work-life balance, wellbeing and social responsibility to leadership and performance climate.

By learning what employees share about their business area, organisation, leaders and colleagues, appropriate actions can be taken to create a better working environment for everyone. In 2020 the survey completion rate was 79.5%, which is 1.7% higher than in 2019. The engagement index for the organization was 76.7%. The results from the Compass survey guide the development of our HR strategies. Also, based on the results of the survey, managers in each business area organise feedback sessions and draw improvement action plans with their teams. The progress of the improvement action points is followed throughout the year. We believe that with good leadership we can increase the engagement and performance of our teams and reach even greater targets.

In addition to the Compass survey, we have also launched a biweekly People Pulse survey with the aim of monitoring the current wellbeing and engagement of our employees and how they cope with the difficult conditions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
