Press Release Cargotec

Hiab presents a new forestry crane with customers' favourite features at Elmia Wood in Sweden

30/05/2013

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 30 MAY 2013 AT 2.00 P.M. EEST

Hiab, part of Cargotec, will showcase its new forestry crane - the Hiab Loglift 108S - at the Elmia Wood fair, held this year in Sweden. The crane, developed on the basis of customers' feedback, was designed around the favourite features of both the Hiab Jonsered and the Hiab Loglift forestry crane ranges. In addition to the new crane, Hiab will present a selection of other forestry cranes that offer world-class durability, performance, and weight-to-capacity ratio.

Hiab's Vice President for Forestry and Recycling Cranes, Lasse Penkkala, comments on the Hiab Loglift 108S crane:
"Our customers have complemented the ease of maintenance of Hiab Loglift cranes, which provide, for example, easy access to slewing cylinders. At the same time, the base design of the Hiab Jonsered has proved its benefits for customers with a stabiliser lifting device and improved hose routing. As customer feedback and continuous development are high on our agenda, we decided to take customers' favourite features of the proven current models and design the Hiab Loglift 108S around them. The new crane is made for non-stop, heavy work."

At the exhibition stand, customers can test Hiab's new spacious C912 cabin, which offers an unrestricted view in all directions and easy access to the buttons and levers. The cabin is combined with the smart control system TimberTronics, a recently launched system developed specifically for Hiab Loglift and Hiab Jonsered forestry cranes. Some of the cranes presented in the exhibition can be equipped with the new Hiab Hose Protection Link, which is a smart way of protecting hoses.

Hiab will also showcase other Hiab Loglift and Hiab Jonsered models known for their durability and performance, including two tree-length cranes: the Hiab Loglift 251S and Hiab Jonsered 2850S; three cut to length cranes: the Hiab Loglift 120S and Hiab Loglift 96S and the Hiab Jonsered 1080S; and three Z cranes that fold down to compact size: the Hiab Loglift 115Z, 135Z, and 145Z.

We invite all interested parties to meet us and see the cranes, TimberTronics control system, Hose Protection Link, and C912 cabin at the Hiab stand, no. 801. The fair takes place in Jönköping, Sweden, on 5-8 June.

We welcome media to visit our stand on Friday, 7 June at 9.30 a.m. (Swedish) or 10.30 a.m. (English), for interviews with Hiab's top management. Please contact Lotta Clausen (lotta.clausen@cargotec.com), to arrange a one-on-one interview.
