MacGREGOR expands passenger ship after sales support serviceTwo MacGREGOR passenger ship offices in the USA are to be combined and relocated bringing the new expanded branch closer to local shipowners and operators, and thus reducing response times and customer costs MacGREGOR (USA) Inc, part of the MacGREGOR Group, is combining the strengths of its offices in Miami and Sunrise, in Florida. The two offices will be relocated to form one new Florida-based marine operations centre near Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale. It will be operational in May. Heikki P¶ntynen, vice president of Miami operations for MacGREGOR's Passenger Ship Division, said: "The main reason for relocation is to improve the service that we can offer our customers, and by being based near Port Everglades, we can achieve this. The new location brings this MacGREGOR passenger ship branch closer to our customers' ships. "We are expanding our facilities and investing in personnel. This will also reduce our response time, and provide a better overall service for our customers. The move strengthens MacGREGOR's marine operations for passenger ships, providing cost-effective solutions, services and products for shipowners and operators." These investments will further strengthen MacGREGOR services for marine elevators, galleys, provisions stores, refrigeration machinery, and HVAC systems. The new office will have increased capacity to provide maintenance, service and modernisations, spare parts management programmes, and classroom training to complement the onboard training programmes already provided by MacGREGOR.
