Kalmar forklift truck in demanding three-shift operation

15 Kalmar forklifts trucks in the EGGER factory in Brilon function reliably despite the stringent availability requirements.

"We make more out of wood" is the clear message from the EGGER group of companies, whose activities are geared to chipboard and MDF board in many variants for a wide range of uses. EGGER is currently one of the leading producers of timber materials in Europe

The loading capacity of 150 truck trailers speaks for the quantities of chipboard and fibreboard for widely varying applications which every day have to be transported from processing to shipping and are there loaded onto lorries or goods wagons.

15 Kalmar forklift trucks powered by fuel gas and with carrying capacities from 4.5 t to 16 t are available for all transportation and transhipment procedures.

All lift trucks are operated in three shifts and achieve over 5,000 operating hours per annum. This demonstrates that extremely stringent demands are made with regard to quality and reliability. In the words of Gerd Hesse, who holds general power of attorney and is thus responsible for Procurement Technology: "In our company we cannot allow ourselves any unforeseeable downtime. In all our products we offer our cus-tomers maximum quality by using qualified staff and advanced technology. Accordingly we have to make the same stringent demands of technical aids."

The Kalmar forklifts trucks in the EGGER factory in Brilon function reliably despite the stringent availability requirements. An advantage in this context is the Spirit Delta cabin; it is well known that Kalmar has used this cabin to set new standards in the design of the driver's workplace. Gerd Hesse confirms this, and continues: "Our decision in favour of the Kalmar forklift truck was particularly influenced by its robustness and well thought-out technology, as well as the fact that Kalmar has at its disposal a range of products covering all the areas of carrying capacity we need. The reliable service and the quick provision of spare parts also influenced our decision. Kalmar makes our work easier, thanks not just to high-quality products but also to the reliability and expertise of the people behind these products in sales and service."

The EGGER group has 14 factories in Austria, Germany, France and Great Britain, around 4,500 employees and in the present financial year a group turnover of around 1.4 billion.
